Substitute Guide/Teacher

Location: Texarkana, AR Texarkana Montessori School at Sugar Hill

Full-Time: Work Schedule As needed Monday-Friday Available as needed 7:15 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Head of Schools, provide for the physical, intellectual and emotional needs of children in a caring and stimulating environment.

In this Substitute Guide/Teacher role, you will follow lesson plans prepared by the lead guide/teachers.

Preferred Qualities:

• High school degree
• Degree in Early Childhood or previous experience in early childhood
• Montessori Diploma/Certificate or are interested in free training
• Experience with the appropriate ages in a group setting, such as preschool, daycare, Nursery, Kindergarten, or Reggio Emilia center
• Help children by giving them the tools to become independent
• Are open to guiding your colleagues, and be guided by them in turn
• Are eager to partner with parents on their child’s journey
• Take pride in your work and are friendly error
• Energized and inspired by working with children
• Willingness to float between classrooms and assist as needed
