Lead Guide/Teacher Toddler Room (18 to 36 mos.)

Location: Texarkana, AR Texarkana Montessori School at Sugar Hill

Full-Time: Work Schedule Monday-Friday  8:00 AM – 5:30 PM with lunch break

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Head of Schools, provide for the physical, intellectual and emotional needs of children in a caring and stimulating environment.

In this Lead Guide role, you will create and lead a model classroom as part of our founding team. Through your efforts, parents will see what’s possible for their child when authentic, high-quality Montessori is available in the prepared environment. You will be provided with high quality materials to make your classroom unique.

Preferred Qualities:

• High school degree
• Degree in Early Childhood or previous experience in early childhood
• Montessori Diploma/Certificate or are interesting in free training
• Experience with the appropriate ages in a group setting, such as preschool, daycare, childcare, nursery, or Reggio Emilia center
• Help children by giving them the tools to become independent
• Are open to guiding your colleagues, and be guided by them in turn
• Take pride in your work and are friendly with error
• Energized and inspired by working with children
• Passionate about fostering children’s confidence in themselves and their peers while contributing to a classroom community of grace and courtesy
