Assistant Guide/Teacher Infant Room (12 wk – 18 mo)

Location: Texarkana, AR Texarkana Montessori School at Sugar Hill

Full-Time: Work Schedule Monday-Friday 8:00-5:15 with lunch break

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Head of Schools, provide for the physical, intellectual and emotional needs of children in a caring and stimulating environment.

In this Assistant Guide role, you will support our Lead Guide in guiding children to increase their independence and confidence in their abilities. Through your efforts, parents will see what’s possible for their child when authentic, high-quality Montessori is available in the prepared environment.

Preferred Qualities:

• High school degree
• Degree in Early Childhood or previous experience in early childhood
• Montessori Diploma/Certificate or are interested in free training
• Experience with the appropriate ages in a group setting, such as preschool, daycare, Nursery, or Reggio Emilia center
• Help children by giving them the tools to become independent
• Are open to guiding your colleagues, and be guided by them in turn
• Take pride in your work and are friendly with error
• Energized and inspired by working with children
• passionate about fostering children’s confidences in themselves and their peers while contributing to a classroom community of grace and courtesy
